The course is designed for educators working in secondary schools who have frequent contact with young people, for example, teachers, school/college counsellors and sports coaches.

It is most relevant in situations where educators become aware of symptoms that might indicate that students in their classroom or any other network is developing a mental health problem. However, the course may also provide some useful information on how to assist a student who has a history of mental illness or longer-term mental health problems.
The course for educators consists of 14 contact learning hours which are delivered through 4 sessions of 3.5 hours each.

Eligibility:  All educators teaching at a secondary school can apply.
Selection: Preference will be given to PSCD and guidance teachers.

The Mental Health First Aid course for educators in secondary schools, which consists of 14 contact learning hours, is being offered FREE OF CHARGE for a limited time period since it is being offered as part of an EU funded project.

A printed manual on Youth Mental Health First Aid and a free mobile app including the same manual in electronic format will be given for free to all the course participants.
